For over 100 years, Timken has focused on creating value across diverse industries and market segments. Timken has developed and applied various friction management and power transmission solutions in fields ranging from aerospace, mining, and medical sectors to the automotive industry. Since its founding in 1899, the company has maintained steady and continuous growth. At the core of Timken’s business relationships is closely addressing customer problems and finding solutions.
Timken Bearings significantly expanded its product range in 2003 by incorporating the Torrington, Nadella, and Fafnir brands.
Timken’s founder, Henry Timken, noticed that heavy-load wagons experienced harsh rotations and designed tapered roller bearings capable of handling both radial and axial loads to solve this problem. This patented design benefited many customers by reducing harsh rotations, lowering maintenance and spare parts costs, and allowing smoother wagon movement.
The Timken bearings also extended the life of the wagons. As a result, smoother rotation helped reduce the load, directly benefiting Timken’s customers. Henry Timken soon realized that this solution could be applied to various tapered roller bearings and worked on it together with his sons. Eventually, the company developed into the Timken Roller Bearing and Axle Company, achieving its present-day success.
Timken Bearings’ vision is to enhance customer performance while maintaining core values of ethics, quality, integrity, foresight, and independent work.
Timken Bearings has guided customers on how to use their products faster, safer, and more efficiently, demonstrating a strong commitment to technological advancement.
