NSK Ltd. was established in 1916 by taking over the business of Nippon Seiko Limited, which was founded in 1914. It produced Japan’s first ball bearings.
NSK began its commercial activities in Osaki-machi, Ebara-Gun, Tokyo, as Japan's first bearing manufacturer. Over the past 90 years, NSK’s history can be briefly summarized as follows:
After its establishment in 1916, NSK expanded in the bearing sector during the 1930s and played a significant role in meeting post-war demands in the 1940s.
In the 1950s, NSK recognized the market potential of lead screw technology and linear products and expanded accordingly.
In the 1960s, NSK established an engineering research laboratory, which coincided with the development of roller bearings. In the same period, NSK also developed axial bearings for express trains.
After the 1970s, NSK accelerated its growth by developing its first bearing oil (NS7), conducting studies to extend bearing life, and becoming a pioneer in the sealed bearing market.
In the 1980s, NSK entered the field of mechatronics and established heat treatment technology.
Since the 1990s, technological advancements have continued, including the development of high-purity steel, completion of the Fujisawa Research & Development Center, development of the HPS series for industrial applications, production of the world’s smallest bearing (inner diameter: 0.6mm, outer diameter: 2mm), and the development of cylindrical roller bearings for wind turbine shafts.
As of 2007, with a capital of 67 billion Japanese Yen, NSK remains a pioneer in the bearing sector. Considering the demands and needs of the bearing market in Turkey, NSK coordinates its production and sales programs, ensuring that bearing distributors can obtain the required bearings as quickly as possible. NSK is dedicated to achieving the best results within the framework of its product, process, and service chain for the benefit of its customers, partners, and employees.
The high-quality standard maintained since its establishment under the NSK brand, along with a growing commercial network and technical service provided by experienced engineers, is among the key reasons for its success in Turkey.
NSK is also the manufacturer of RHP bearings.
